What you will do

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a multidisciplinary team delivering services to looked after children and care leavers.
  • Ensure statutory assessments, pathway plans, care plans, permanence planning, and reviews are completed to required standards and timescales.
  • Provide professional oversight and decision-making on complex safeguarding, court, and permanence cases.
  • Promote high-quality, trauma-informed, and relationship-based social work practice across the service.
  • Monitor performance, manage risks, quality assure casework, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, MA or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Management or leadership qualification desirable.
  • Practice Educator Award desirable.

Registration and Compliance

  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Thorough knowledge of:
    • Children Act 1989 and 2004
    • Care Leavers (Children and Social Work Act 2017)
    • Working Together to Safeguard Children
    • Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations
    • Equality Act 2010
    • Relevant safeguarding and corporate parenting responsibilities.
