Are you a skilled Nursery Teacher passionate about early years education and ready to join an excellent independent school in Hemel Hempstead from January 2026?

Wayman Education is recruiting a committed Nursery Teacher for a well-resourced independent school in Hemel Hempstead. The successful Nursery Teacher will lead high-quality nursery provision, create engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments, and work with families to support children's early development. As Nursery Teacher, you will lead planning, assessment and day-to-day routines, and collaborate closely with the Reception team to ensure continuity across the EYFS.

Role details:

  • Nursery Teacher – Hemel Hempstead independent school
  • Start Date – January 2026
  • Contract – Permanent / Term-time

Responsibilities (Nursery Teacher):

  • Plan and deliver play-based sessions as the Nursery Teacher.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress and maintain learning records as the Nursery Teacher.
  • Support transitions to Reception and liaise with parents as the Nursery Teacher.
  • Contribute to the independent school’s Early Years improvement plan in Hemel Hempstead.

Person specification:

  • Relevant Early Years qualifications and experience as a Nursery Teacher.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and observation practice as the Nursery Teacher.
  • Warm, organised and reflective practitioner suited to an independent school in Hemel Hempstead.
