<li>Assess, plan, review and provide support to a child, family or care with complex family or social care needs, taking full account of appropriate legal frameworks, policy and guidance.</li><li>Assess family functioning, providing help and support, when relationships breakdown threatens to impair the health or wellbeing of children at risk of abuse or neglect.</li><li>Work collaboratively, building effective working relationships with other professionals, internally and externally to help children, young people and families improve and gain control of their lives when safety or ability to participate in their community is restricted.</li><li>Carry out an assessment or enquiry and plan responses to safeguard a child from abuse, neglect or exploitation, building effective relationships with children, adults and families as appropriate, including intervention when information or circumstances suggest there may be a need to remove a child from their parents or carers.</li><li>Arrange appropriate alternative care (including, where appropriate a permanent home) in collaboration with children, young people and their parents/carers where the parents/carers cannot care for them.</li><li>Accountable for making recommendations about whether a case has reached the threshold for statutory intervention.</li><li>Promoting autonomy and development with individuals who have complex social needs and are more vulnerable as a result of disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity, for example, working with people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or diminished capacity.</li><li>Maintain up to date, accurate and high quality records of activity on cases. Participate in a range of planning and decision making forums including case discussions, Strategy Meetings, Legal planning meetings, Child Protection Conferences, Statutory Reviews.</li><li>Act as Practice Educators for social work qualifying course students on practice placements (as appropriate) or Assessor for Newly Qualified Social Workers completing their ASYE.</li><li>Working with communities, families and individuals to maximise or promote their personal strengths, social networks and resources.</li><li>Hold a caseload of a level of complexity and provide case management, guidance, support and expert advice to social care staff, students and newly qualified social workers, as and when required.</li><li>Contribute to development of organisational capability by taking ownership of your own training and development, including identifying and taking part in training and development activity and responding to feedback on performance.</li><li>Work as part of project or process teams as required under the new operating model, ensuring excellent cross functional output.</li></ul>

The salary for this permanent Family Support Worker job is up to £31,731 per annum. Main duties:<ul>
<li>The Family Support Worker to work in partnership with the Early Intervention &amp; Family Support Service Supervision and Manager using effective communication skills to ensure that the team is able to deliver effective, efficient services.</li><li>To be responsible for holding an individual caseload.</li><li>Maintain good standards of childcare practice.</li><li>Make appropriate referrals to Child Protection Team in line with procedures.</li><li>To prepare and present reports for a wide variety of audiences and (Case conferences, Core Group Meetings and Court and to support and assist Staff to) ensure that work in this area is completed to a high standard and within timescales.</li><li>To participate in referral meetings, reviews, case discussions, core group meetings, case conferences court, care plan meetings and any other relevant meeting. Organizing, chairing and taking minuets if required. Ensuring service users fully understand the process.</li><li>To complete relevant paper work for the family files and maintain these files to a high standard, working with other staff to ensure this is done in line with departmental procedures.</li><li>To work in partnership with families, monitoring their needs through accurate record keeping, care planning and case recording ensuring that information is shared with service users where this is permissible.</li><li>To keep up to date and implement any legislation or procedures in relation to service delivery, disseminating as necessary to other staff.</li><li>To work with the Early Intervention &amp; Family Support Team to ensure that the organisation and development of services comply With Ofted required minimum standards.</li><li>To actively promote and encourage diversity and a multi-cultural ethos through every aspect of the service.</li><li>To ensure health and safety procedures are followed within own areas of responsibility, ensuring that health and safety requirements are met including lone working procedures.</li></ul>
