JOB-20241107-791d94d2Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Initial Response Team to work full-time within the Initial Response Team based in Bury.The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £42,708 per annum.Main duties:<ul>
<li>Provide a professional social work service to children in need and their families in accordance with the principles of the Children Act</li><li>Undertake enquiries and assessments of children who are considered to have possible suffered or who may be likely to suffer significant harm. Make applications with the appropriate management and legal advice for Orders to safeguard children under the Children Act</li><li>Work in partnership with service users in a variety of settings including the office, the service user’s own premises and any other suitable setting for social work practice</li><li>Prepare written reports of a professional standard for use in a variety of settings, including Court proceedings.</li><li>Act as a representative of the Local Authority at court, give verbal evidence at Public and Private proceedings and give account of Local Authority actions; provide written evidence for the courts when required.</li><li>Maintain client records in accordance with statutory and departmental requirements.</li><li>Attend child protection conferences, statutory reviews, core groups, department meetings and verbally contribute in a professional manner to the course of the proceedings.</li><li>Represent the Local Authority when cases are being transferred between authorities.</li><li>Contribute to the preparation and implementations of plans for children in need (child protection, looked after children and family support)</li><li>Contribute to the maintenance and development of an efficient and effective social work team, attend and contribute to team meetings in a structured professional manner.</li><li>Provide cover for the Children and Families Social Work Teams and when required.</li><li>Work directly with service users employing a wide range of social work knowledge, skills, methods and techniques.</li><li>Work co-operatively or conjointly with other social workers or other professionals where this is seen to be appropriate by the Fieldwork Team Manager or their managers</li><li>Participate as required in the administration and organisation of all work related to social work duties associated with the post.</li><li>Provide information to assist in the planning, implementation or monitoring of services as required for departmental, Department of Health or other official purposes.</li><li>Work effectively and co-operatively within a professional and family network established in respect of individual children in need and their families.</li></ul>
Requirements of this Social Worker role:<ul>
<li>A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent</li><li>Extensive experience of a Social work post in a statutory or voluntary agency working with children and young people in a field, residential, or family placement setting</li><li>Understanding of relevant legislation</li><li>Registered or eligible for registration</li><li>Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation</li></ul>
