An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mental Health Act Administrator to join the Mental Health Act team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be mainly based at Park House and you will supervise a small team responsible for the provision of Mental Health Act administration across the Trust. The post-holder may be required to provide MHA administration cover in other MHA offices across the trust.
The post holder will be responsible for administering the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983, ensuring that the Trust operates in accordance with the requirements of the law; and follows guidance in the Code of Practice and Reference Guide for the Mental Health Act.
The post holder will need to be a self-motivated individual with an excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act. They will be responsible for receiving and scrutinising the Mental Health Act statutory documents and arranging for any amendments to be made within the legal timescale. The Senior Mental Health Act Administrator will liaise with consultants, clinical teams, social services, solicitors, Care Quality Commission, service users and their relatives.
You will need to have extensive Mental Health Act Administration experience and proven supervisory skills. You will need excellent organisational skills, together with the ability to communicate at all levels.
