On behalf of my client we are looking for a Children’s Home Manager for the Colchester area. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of a 5 bed Ofsted registered residential home which provides quality care for a group of vulnerable young people with social, emotional & behavioural difficulties.
You will need to have a Registered Manager’s award, Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services or a Level 4 qualification relevant to working with children, as well as in management, and have at least 2 years experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting within the last 5 years. You will also need at least one year experience of supervising and managing professional staff.
You must have excellent leadership and management skills, Good organisational skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You must also have the ability to deliver at least ‘good’ rating in the home’s first Ofsted inspection or maintain an ‘outstanding’ rating passion, drive, resilience and ambition.
You will ensure all staff fully understand their roles in the context of supporting young people with SEBD within a residential care environment. To ensure regular and effective meetings are maintained to enhance and develop integrated care and education practices. Ensure effective communication and team working and the operation of the key worker role.
This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week and the salary is £42,000 - £44,000 depending on experience.
