The Countywide Street Triage Team within the Criminal Justice Liaison & Diversion Service (CJLDS) are looking to recruit a part time, band 4, Senior Support Worker.
Covering 3 evenings, between 4pm and midnight within the Street Triage Team, the Senior Support Worker will provide support to the mental health professional on duty by triage screening, giving information and advice to assist with decision making/disposal route and carrying out appropriate liaison and referral/signposting according to the identified need of the service user.
Street Triage is a new and developing specialist service, supporting the Police and SECAMB when they encounter people with mental health concerns. Street Triage deliver a prompt, county wide response, providing guidance, support and assessment of mental health needs and risks. This not only improves the support provided to people in mental health distress but also reduces unnecessary 136 detentions and transfers to A&E. The Senior Support Worker will be based in either the Police force control room or SECAMB emergency response room with another senior support worker based in the alternate one. There are also 2 Senior Practitioners within the team who will respond in the community to Police and SECAMB
This is an exciting and innovative way of working and would suit a very motivated individual who enjoys diverse roles and working under pressure. You will have a strong sense of initiative, excellent team working ability and be an excellent communicator. A good knowledge of the acute care pathway is an advantage in this role.
