An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Care Assistant to join the team at a beautiful Nursing Home is situated in Barry, in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. They provide a friendly and welcoming environment to enable people to relax and enjoy life. They offer long term and respite nursing and residential care.
The home is close to many local amenities such as the town centre, local supermarkets, shops, banks, leisure facilities. Barry Island beach and promenade are within easy reach. The lounge of the ground floor hosts many activities and entertainment such as music afternoons and mornings, skittles, games afternoons, singers and music therapy. The dining room supports other activities such as arts and crafts, painting, gardening club and bingo. Pets' therapies are conducted regularly.
The Nursing Home is an integral part of the local community. Professionals pride themselves on the standard of care and commitment that is delivered to residents. The aim is to provide a home from home for the people living at the Home.
The team is friendly and hard working and have had the opportunity to further develop their experience and qualifications in care and so could you. This Company offer up to date training and help you gain NVQ's in Health and Social Care.

You will be an experienced Carer either working within a Care Home setting, domiciliary or show demonstrable experience caring for an individual personally. NVQ's are desirable in Care, but are not compulsory as training will be given.
Duties will include:
Helping Residents at bed time and getting out of bed.
Keeping Residents company and in good spirits
following individual care plans
Assisting with personal hygiene
medication when trained
helping at meal times
any other duties as required
