THE ROLE: Practice Development Partner (Care Sector)- North East Region
Reporting to the Quality Partnership Manager, the Proactive Development Partner while drive continuous improvement throughout the region by supporting on delivery of actions on quality assessments, providing dynamic face to face delivery and service specific training. Specialising in Positive Behaviour support under the guidance of the PBS practitioner and proactively promote the Swanton Ethos.
ROLE OBJECTIVES: - Practice Development Partner (Care Sector) North East Region
To work alongside Swanton Service Managers and their wider teams to drive quality improvement and ensure that actions arising from quality assessment visits are implemented in a timely fashion. This will be achieved through a variety of approaches including but not limited to – workplace based learning opportunities, observed practice sessions, manager peer support and progress checking
To deliver dynamic group training as required across the region – this will include the face to face elements of ‘Welcome to Swanton’ (induction), mandatory training not covered through online learning, physical intervention training, and other content as required by services.
To support in the design, delivery and assessment of training content – including the provision of ‘bespoke’ training for individual services (for example around the specific needs of individuals supported by the service.
To support the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner with individual casework across the region. This will include review of behaviour support plans and other documents as well as ensuring that changes or developments to approaches are understood and implemented by managers and teams. This part of the role (only) will report to the PBS Practitioner in terms of casework supervision and guidance
THE CANDIDATE: Practice Development Partner (Care Sector) North East Region
The ideally candidate will hold relevant health & social care qualifications have experience in supporting services for adults with complex needs, and of delivering training sessions to social care team/ teams with the ability to design and deliver inspirational content with authority. This is a remote role so a lot of travel and occasional overnight stays will be required, so a flexible approach to working hours and ability to travel to services is essential
Key experience for this role: - Practice Development Partner (Care Sector) North East Region
Hold a recognised Health & Social Care management qualification
Management experience in support services for adults with complex needs and experience of delivering training sessions to social care teams
Sound understanding of good practice in social care especially in relation to adults with intellectual disability, and/or autism
Self-directed with the ability to multi task and manage time effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills
Flexible approach to working hours
Ability to travel to services across the region, and occasionally nationally
Hold a full UK driving licence and access to transport is essential
Empathy, caring and sensitivity to the needs of others
Desirable, but not essential would be any previous experience working as Care Home Manager, Registered Manager, Care Co-Coordinator, Service Manager, Social Care Operation Manager, etc.
