Making it happen- Your Role
You will be joining a team which supports people with serious physical and mental health disabilities, predominantly within their own homes. Our aim is to give the people you will be supporting as much control over their own lives as possible.
This is a responsible Role which is really varied, can be challenging and is extremely rewarding. the job is all about giving people encouragement, guidance and support so they can live as independently as possible and have the freedom to make their own choices.
The Household you will be working in has two people supported a gentleman and a lady, who require a lot of manual handling. Personal care is also essential for both the gentleman and lady who live in this household. The gentleman supports Everton Football club and attends home games every weekend. The gentleman enjoys going out, he volunteers at the local hospital and is currently looking to learn to horse ride. Being active and maintaining a healthy balanced lifestyle is important to the gentleman. The gentleman has a motability car so it would be a requirement that you would be able to drive.
On a daily basis, you may be involved in supporting people with the following activities:
Drive his motability car
Attending Drs/ hospital appointments
Shopping and socialising
And many more.
