Clinical Lead Nurse – Nurse Qualified – Learning Disability  

Adult Learning Disability Services  

£37,000 per annum + enhancements  




Compass Associates is working with a growing national provider for specialist care who has recently expanded in the Cumbria region, we are currently looking for a Clinical Lead Nurse or  Charge Nurse to join their multi-disciplinary team in the Kendal area.  


You will be working directly with the Home Manager and be responsible for an acquired small sized care home with nursing specialising in Learning Disabilities and Autism. You will be joining an established local team who has worked together in making the site a home for their much-loved service users. As the Clinical Lead Nurse, you will provide tangible leadership and hands on mentorship to the junior members of the nursing team.  


The service is currently rated as an overall ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission.  



The post is in the tranquil settings of the Kendal region and is commutable from Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith and the Lake District area.  


Shift Pattern  

40 hours per week, every other weekend off  


Set patterns of: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday for the first week and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday the following week – this will rotate  



- RMN / RNLD / RGN qualified, valid NMC pin  

- Recognised Mentorship certification / NVQ Assessor Qualification desirable but not essential  

- Ample number of years working in a Learning Disability or Mental Health setting  

- Experience in upskilling junior staff (Nurses and HCAs)  

- Passionate about patient centred care  


Salary and Benefits  

The salary for the position is £37k per annum + enhancements on overtime. With great additional company benefits such as 25 days annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays, your birthday off, free meals when on duty, free parking and a generous pension scheme.
