Job Description

Team Manager, you will have responsibility for the delivery of high-quality social work services through a child’s journey, in a specific team and location– from initial response to permanence and transition.

Supported by an Area Manager, you will be working closely with the Senior Social Workers, Assistant Team Managers and Senior Practitioners within your team to ensure that the right actions are taken at the right time, in the best interests of children and their families.

-As someone who knows what good social work looks like, with your considerable knowledge and first-hand experience as a practitioner, you will oversee all casework undertaken by the team.

-You’ll allocate, audit and monitor casework, as well as supervise and monitor the progress and professional development of each member of your team.

-One of your key priorities will be to eliminate casework drift or delay, ensuring that everyone in the team is meeting the statutory requirements in a timely manner.

-You’ll also promote working effectively with partners in the locality, across universal, early help and statutory services, to achieve the best possible outcomes.

-You will be responsible for ensuring high quality and timely assessments lead to effective planning and interventions with the most vulnerable children and families in Devon.

-You will ensure our planning for looked after children enables them to be kept safe, maximises their potential, achieves permanence and leads to a successful transition to adulthood.

-You will work with your Team Manager colleagues in the area to ensure that every Devon child, no matter where they live, receives the same quality service.
