We are currently recruiting for a passionate and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator for a permanent role working in a 60 bedded Nursing Home in the Shepperton area specialising in elderly care. The home has a fantastic reputation in the local area and their most recent CQC report is rated "GOOD" in all areas.

The Activities Cooridinator position is to ensure that a stimulating environment is provided for the residents and enable them to live interesting and fulfilling lives. You will work both on your own and also collaboratively to provide a schedule of events throughout the week and help residents to keep active and engaged.

Key details

This is a full time, permanent position paying £24,000-25,000 per annum. (DOE and qualifications) The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years' previous experience in an activities role within a care home setting and a good undesrtanding of the type of activities that older people enjoy. Previous care experience for example as a Care Assistant would be advantageous but not essential.

The Role:

As an Activities Co-ordinator you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an inspiring programme of leisure pursuits and social events for both individuals and groups of residents.

Responsibilities:

  • To maintain a stimulating programme of leisure pursuits and social events

  • Produce and advertise within the Home, a weekly social events programme

Required knowledge & experience:

  • 2 years previous experience in a caring role or similar background - elderly care experience is preferred

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desired, but not essential

  • Ability to plan a calendar of activities.

  • Sense of Fun, Flexibility and ideas for things to do daily.
