Job Description

Kent and Medway NHS Partnership have an exciting opportunity for a Professional Lead (Principle) Social Worker to strategically lead and develop the provision of high quality social care across KMPT. The role will report to the Executive Director of Partnerships & Strategy/Deputy Chief Executive and will support the organisation to expand development of social work roles within our workforce and provide leadership to their development, linking in with national programmes. The role covers the whole of Kent and Medway and will work directly with the Kent County Council and the Medway County Council

The successful candidate will operate as Trust professional lead for social work, focussing on social inclusion and working closely with adult social care partners around development of recovery and wellbeing programmes, involving linking with local providers and developing our community engagement.

The role will act as the organisational link across the Trust and the two local authorities as well as lead on developments with local councils linking back into the operational delivery and service development.

You will be registered with Social Work England and have extensive experience of managing health/social care services with a strong background in a clinical leadership/professional management role. It is desirable that you have experience working as an approved mental health practitioner, but most importantly candidates need to possess experience in developing and maintaining effective partnerships with stakeholders in the redesign of services and be confident in managing diverse practitioner teams across multi-site locations.

The role will require an open and facilitative leadership style and the ability to motivate, empower and enable others, while holding professions and peers to account.

Candidates will have a wealth of knowledge around legislative frameworks and issues regarding safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, along with an excellent understanding of how services can make step changes for improvement.
