Job Description

Service Manager - Substance Misuse (Prisons) - South West London - £43,000 - £47,000 per annum DOE

We are seeking an experienced service manager with a strong background in substance misuse and/or prison healthcare management, to join a large substance misuse charity in South West London.

Our client is one of the country's most recognisable alcohol and opiate addiction recovery services, aiming to provide detoxification care to prison inmates while attending to their general and mental wellbeing. Responsibilities and purpose of the Service Manager role:

  • Ensuring the service is appropriately resourced and managed to provide safe, accessible, confidential person-centred care
  • Recruiting a multi-skilled workforce that embraces a culture of continuous
  • improvement, through appropriate training, coaching and mentoring
  • Working within the appropriate quality and governance frameworks to ensure a continuous focus on service audit and improvement
  • Formulating the budget forecast and agreed costs as well as ensuring
  • the contract run within the allocated budget
  • Working to manage step planned/unplanned budget reductions with minimal service/staff impact
  • Liaising with the HR team to manage staff welfare, sickness, performance and conduct matters in line with company policies
  • Staying in contact with local commissioning bodies, Public Health England representatives and other key stakeholders
  • Reporting on service deliverables and outcomes in a range of formats for key stakeholders

Essential requirements of this Service Manager role:

  • 3 years' experience as a Service Manager within substance misuse and/or prison services (required)
  • Experience with strategic planning, project development and operational management at the senior-level
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations/KLOE framework
  • Driver's license
  • Right to work in the UK
