Job Description

We have an exciting new vacancy for a Band 5 Community Mental Health Practitioner to join the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIP) as part of a developmental role to a Band 6. The post is for 37.5 hours covering Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley

This is a time for transformation where the Early Intervention in Psychosis service is evolving to meet demand. The team have extended the age range from 35 to 65 years and is offering a number of interventions to service users who are presenting with a first episode of psychosis and their families and carers. This development is following the introduction of the Access and Waiting Time Standards. The service has a strong ethos of ensuring service users and their families/carers are central to leading their recovery. We are looking for a qualified practitioner (Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist) with relevant experience, who is motivated to work within and contribute to the continued development of this exciting service.

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service forms part of the Community Recovery Service Line Directorate. The existing team is comprised of Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychological Practitioners, Support Time and Recovery Workers, Admin and Clerical Workers.

A commitment to continued professional development is essential. We offer on-going clinical and professional supervision and access to relevant courses to assist you in developing your career. Are you interested in developing skills and gaining experience in this dynamic service working with clients with first episode of psychosis? Care Coordinators have capped caseloads to allow for innovative and focused interventions in partnership with service users, families and carers promoting recovery, social inclusion and well-being. Experience of working directly with people with psychosis is essential. Applicants need to be able to work flexibly, creatively and be responsive to the needs of this client group and their carers. As part of the Band 6 Nursing team you will be required to attain a mentoring qualification.
