An experienced and dedicated individual is required to help run a state of the art, purpose-built Residential Care Home within the Portsmouth area.
The home is a fantastic 60 bedded residence which caters for elderly and dementia clients and the most recent CQC report is rated "GOOD" in all areas. All rooms are comfortably furnished to an extremely high standard and come with en-suites as standard. The company aim to promote person-centred care throughout all of their homes and has an extremely strong reputation in the industry. They are a family-run organisation who aim to look after their staff as well as their residents and truly value the hard work that they put in.
Shifts will be a mixture of times depending on the needs of the home and the duties that would need to be carried out. Many will be 9-5 or 8-4 but there will also be need for 8-8 or 2-8 shifts on occasion for example to monitor the care team and ensure that the very highest quality of care possible is being provided.
The Head of Care will work closely alongside the Deputy Manager to maintain the high standards that the home has set and make sure that all paperwork is updated and completed regularly. There will be a mixture of both floor and office duties and you will be expected to lead the care team and be hands on when necessary and demonstrate best practice.
This is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary of around £32,500 per year. This is working on a 40 hours per week contract with alternate weekends.
We are seeking a strong and experienced individual with drive and commitment who is seeking a new exciting challenge. The ideal candidate will have Deputy or Supervisory experience within a 45+ bedded elderly care home with good leadership skills and a strong personality.
NVQ Level 3 minimum
Medication trained - Familiar with all aspects of the medication process
Managerial/supervisory experience within a medium or large home
Proficient with: Care plans, Risk assessments, Supervisions, Liaising with families and other healthcare professionals

Shared responsibility of the home alongside the Manager and Deputy
