Nexgen Locum are now recruiting for a Support Worker to work with an amputee who requires assistance in the community with activities such as going to the Gym, swimming on occasion and planning activities.
The Client also requires aid with interpretation of documents in informal settings such as a GP Appointment. Fluency in Polish and English is essential for the role because of this.
The Client is a very able amputee who also suffers from Diabetes and a head injury. Although fully independent, they require support for 3 days a week initially, with potential to rise to full-time hours.Due to the nature of the head injury, the Client can express challenging behavior although no physical aid is needed.
Initially, the shifts will be a Monday and Tuesday 10am - 5pm, and Friday afternoons 2pm - 5pm. The position has the aim of becoming full-time.
What we need for this fantastic opportunity:
Due to the Clients' requirements and nature of the role, you must be a Polish-Speaker
Enhanced DBS and Care Certificate up-to-date
Driver's license and access to a car due to the nature of the role
Familiarity with Amputee Support, brain injury and Diabetes is preferred but not essential as training and guidance can be given
