Job Description

Single Point of Access (SPOA) is a Referrals Management function; which provides Urgent or Emergency Telephone Mental Health help and support to Adult clients who are not currently receiving care and treatment from KMPT Services.Clients can talk directly to a clinically trained Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist professional who will discuss their needs and support them on their journey to wellness through KMPT. Single Point of Access clinicians assess an individual via telephone-screening and determine if/what mental health needs exist. Once identified, clinicians will refer to the appropriate Secondary Care Service or signpost the client to the most appropriate Primary Care Service. Single Point of Access are presently working closely with Secamb and 111 to explore how these services can work together to become the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), this is an exciting new venture for KMPT which may support a move in base to Ashford. Our team is presently providing a service that operates from 8am to 10pm 7 days a week.

We are recruiting qualified professionals to become part of our clinically led Single Point of Access team as Band 6 clinicians. The post holder will be part of a multi disciplinary team and responsible for triaging routine, urgent and emergency referrals and the onward co-ordination of referrals into secondary mental health care in Kent and Medway.

We are looking for professionals with at least 18 months experience, who have excellent communication skills with a commitment to providing patient centred care. As a call centre based team,candidates must be IT literate with the ability to enter details into our clinical systems in a timely manner. As a member of the Single Point of Access team you will be trained by us to be the first point of contact for people accessing secondary mental health services, through tele-triaging and you will be required to attain a mentoring qualification
