Job Description

My client is looking for an experienced Family Intervention Worker to join their Children’s Services ‘Looked After Children’s Team’ based in Tameside, Manchester.

This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week on an Initial 3 Month temporary contract.

Your Duties & Responsibilities will include:

• To undertake a direct programme of work with children and to provide advice, guidance and practical assistance to children, family and Social Worker to include life story work and books

• To support Foster Carers’ placement of Looked After Children

• To contribute to packages of care for Looked After Children and to work in partnership with parents/carers, colleagues and other agencies to promote effective liaison, communication, and joint working arrangements

• To contribute to the evaluation and review needs in individual cases through assessment, observation, and monitoring

• To provide transport when required and as identified as part of a Care Plan

• To participate in regular supervision sessions, attend appropriate meetings and participate in relevant and development activity

As a successful applicant, you must have:

• Good standard of General Education

• NVQ Level 3, Care of Children and Young People/NNEB/B.TEC

• Working with Looked After Children and families

• Direct work with children and families in their home

• Application of Child Protection Procedures

• Use of Information Technology
