Healthcare Assistant - Private Surgical Hospital    

Bath, Somerset  

£16,500 - £18,500 pa + Pension Scheme, 27 Days AL, Private Medical Insurance + More  

Full time - 37.5 hours

Compass Associates are delighted to be working with a reputable client in the search for a Healthcare Assistant to join their Private Hospital based in the Bath area of Somerset.  

   

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Health Care Assistant to work alongside the Nursing team to provide outstanding levels of care. The hospital comprises 30 inpatient beds and 22 day surgery unit beds. Facilities include four operating theatres, and outpatient and diagnostic facilities (including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), x-ray, ultrasound and computed tomography scanner). This client prides itself on outstanding patient care which is reflected through their 'Good' CQC report, with some outstanding features.    

         

The Candidate    

   

I am seeking skilled Health Care Assistants with previous Theatre and Acute Surgical experience to join a growing and fast paced team. This is a great opportunity to further your skills in various specialities and work to support the Nursing Team and other Healthcare Professionals.    

      

As a Healthcare Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the clinical team in the following duties:

 

 

- To prepare the operating theatre for surgery

- Daily checking of medicine stocks within clinic rooms and main medicine cabinet

- Chaperoning in clinics as needed

- To ensure that patients are helped to retain their dignity and individuality.

- To provide support and assistance to professionals when they are performing specific clinics, clinical treatments and investigative appropriate program's for patients

- To communicate positively and tactfully with patients, their relatives, carers and visitors.

- To assist and support patients as they move from one care setting to another, e.g. department to transport.

- To assist with patients' basic care needs including maintaining personal hygiene, accessing and using toilet facilities if required.

- To contribute to the movement and treatment of patients in order to minimise discomfort and pain and provide for rest.       

 

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deliver high quality clinical care and give patients an efficient and personal experience. You will be a team player, demonstrating your ability to inspire and effectively cooperate with others.  

               

This opportunity is full time role is work Monday - Friday with the following shifts on a rotational pattern: 7.30am to 6.30pm, 7.30am to 7.30pm, 7.30am to 8.30pm. You will also be expected to work some weekends on-call.    

 

We're looking for career driven HCA's with minimum 2 years of experience.  

Please note, you will not be considered if you have less than 2 years healthcare experience.

 

Requirements    

 

NVQ level 2 in health and social care  

Previous Acute Surgical or Theatre experience

Willing to learn and develop

Friendly and personable  

Driven and dedicated with good time keeping and organisational skills  

Passion for providing excellent patient care, going above and beyond to help others
