Highbridge Resourcing are a specialist social care agency working with and recruiting for a well-known charitable organisation based in Sutton Coldfield.
We are currently seeking a Support Worker to work with children with learning and physical disabilities on a full or part time basis. This is a permanent opportunity that will require you to be qualified to level 3.
The service provides short breaks for children in a residential home environment and it has recently been rated GOOD by CQC. There is the capacity to care for up to 8 children at one time.
The role will involve shift work, however there are no sleep ins required. Weekend work will be required on a rotational basis and you will work 2 weekends on, 1 weekend off.
As a Support Worker, you will offer personal care and support to the children who use the service and will be responsible for their physical and mental wellbeing, whilst having an understanding and non-judgemental attitude. You will be supporting children aged 5-19 years who have learning and/or physical disabilities whether they use the service either for day care or overnight stays.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working in a residential care setting
Have the level 3 in health and social care
Have excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Be motivated, flexible, and reliable
Be prepared to work in a changing environment – this is a respite service, so changes occur frequently.
Have experience working with children with learning/physical disabilities.
Have a clean DBS or be willing to undergo one
