Job Description

The commitment of our 17,100 staff is key to our success. We are one of the largest local employers and we aim to develop and support all our staff so they are able to deliver high quality, safe and efficient care. The 2018 NHS staff survey results show that we have one of the most engaged and motivated workforces in the NHS. We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.

Have you experience of pharmaceutical production in hospital or industry?

We have a vacancy within our chemotherapy preparation and dispensing unit and are looking for suitably candidates with previous experience of pharmaceutical production. You will already have achieved or be working towards an NVQ 2 in pharmacy services or have equivalent experience.
Once started, you will need to complete an NVQ 2 within one year for regulatory compliance reasons.

Working in the aseptic units is a very satisfying job! You will work with trained technicians and pharmacists and as a team undertake the production and dispensing of medicines that make a real difference to patient care - the patients we treat are often the sickest and most vulnerable in the hospital. These medicines are not available commercially and so patients really depend on us getting it right all the time!

You will have experience of working in a GMP production environment and be able to show you can work accurately, efficiently and follow procedures at all times. Due to the critical nature of our work you will have to meet the highest standards of discipline, personal hygiene, attention to detail and clean room behaviours.
