The young people are aged between 9 to 19 years with severe language and communication difficulties and with profound and multiple learning difficulties including physical and sensory needs.

As long as you have some kind of care experience you will be considered for this position and worked or volunteered in a role where you've looked after a vulnerable person. Full training will be given which will include challenging behaviour management and personal care. Duties will include ensuring the child gets washed and ready for bed and ensuring they feel safe to sleep well during the night. The primary importance here is having the skill to make a child who may suffer from anxiety because of a learning disability feel safe, secure and confident as all times.
