An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 suitably experienced mental health practitioner to work within the Mental Health Liaison Team, based at The Royal Bolton Hospital
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The post holder will also support the Royal Bolton Hospital clinical teams, in ensuring timely and appropriate intervention to service users with mental health needs.
From April 2018 the Service expanded to an All Age Service with the team now accepting referrals from the A&E Department, the Paediatric A&E department and all of the medical wards within the Royal Bolton Hospital.
The Mental Health Liaison Service offers a comprehensive range of mental health assessments and brief interventions within one Multi-Disciplinary Team. We work with all patients with a suspected or actual mental health problems who will be assessed, treated, signposted or referred appropriately, regardless of age, presenting complaint, time of presentation or severity. The team now work across the whole age range spectrum of:-
Children and young people
Working age adults
Older adults - organic and functional difficulties
We are looking for registered mental health nurses, social workers and occupational therapists with a broad range of experience within the field of mental health, ideally with experience of working within children and young people mental health services.
It is anticipated that all Mental Health Liaison staff will develop skills in all areas and work with any patients presenting. We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic clinicians who can embrace a 'can do' work culture to meet the challenging demands of the service. In return you will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team who will have the experience of working in an urgent care setting and will be supervised by experienced and knowledgeable clinical leaders in liaison psychiatry.

Key Requirements
You will need to be able to work under pressure and be competent in IT skills.
You will be expected to independently undertake holistic biopsychosocial assessments and be proficient in risk assessment and management.
You will be expected to work shifts across the 24 hours, 365 days per year.
Ward/Department Summary :
The Mental Health Liaison Service is an exceptionally busy team, we work collaboratively with the Royal Bolton Hospital in order to provide timely assessment and recommendations for treating patients with a range of mental health diagnoses. The team manages a caseload of in-patients with mental health problems, and is at times required to support RBH colleagues in their management of detained patients.
