Would you like the opportunity to join an established supportive team where your opinion is valued and matters?
The mental health liaison service at Black Country Partnership Foundation Trust has received permanent investment for expansion to provide a 24 hour service, including weekends. The team provides a comprehensive assessment service for those aged 18 +, presenting with mental health needs both in A&E and on wards across Sandwell General Hospital.
This service is a Nurse Led team designed to be embedded across the Acute hospital. As a band 6 clinician, the post holder would be joining a well-established, friendly and enthusiastic team that prides itself on high standards and delivery of an exceptional service.
You will be providing comprehensive assessments in an autonomous and systematic way, developing and reviewing treatment plans, advising and supporting Acute trust colleagues and referring patients onwards through established referral pathways. You will be assessing a wide range of presentations including assessment and management of the acutely unwell person with mental illness, physical contributors, dual diagnosis, self- harm/injury, and eating disorders.
The team continue to tackle the stigma traditionally associated with mental health issues through teaching and supporting staff in the Acute setting to help facilitate access to appropriate treatments for mental health presentations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing and expanding team which will be researched based in design according to the need of the Acute inpatient population. We would welcome applications from staff who enjoy working in a busy acute setting as a team player, and who is confident to work autonomously and can also demonstrate enthusiasm.
