Main duties:<ul>
<li>To act as a member of a social work team providing social work services to children and their families, with the purpose of safeguarding and promoting their welfare within the context of Special Guardianship and Adoption.</li><li>All post are expected to maintain professional standards of practice and to work in accordance with Social Work England standards and the Division’s values, strategic objectives, procedures and managerial guidance.</li><li>With appropriate supervision assess and provide services to children and families in need within the framework of relevant law, legislation and nation and local guidance.</li><li>To undertake high-quality, analytical care and pathway plans within statutory timescales, which are reflective of presenting concerns and responsive to identified unmet needs and/or risks.</li><li>To undertake practice which is analytical and reflective and in which the child’s voice is consistently heard and recorded.</li><li>Working within London Child Protection Procedures to undertake key work responsibilities for children looked after by the Local Authority who are deemed to be at risk.</li><li>Working with Care Planning Regulations 2010, and in accordance with the Children &amp; Families Act 2014, to execute statutory duties to children in care.</li><li>To enhance and promote continuing professional development in accordance with the Professional Capabilities Framework and registration requirements of the HCPC. To undertake appropriate training and keep abreast of changes in legislation divisional procedures and development in professional practice.</li><li>To contribute to the planning and development of the service provided by the team and promote the improvement of standards and quality assurance.</li><li>To use ICT and ICS as required to maintain accurate case records and be able to report on key performance management data.</li><li>To ensure that your Line Manager is kept fully appraised of any concerns arising from caseload and seek advice as and when necessary.</li></ul>

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £42,246 per annum. Main duties:<ul>
<li>Assess, plan, review and provide support to a child, family or carer with complex family or social care needs, taking full account of appropriate legal frameworks, policy and guidance.</li><li>Assess family functioning, providing help and support, when relationship breakdown threatens to impair the health or wellbeing of children at risk of abuse or neglect.</li><li>Work collaboratively, building effective working relationships with other professionals, internally and externally to help children, young people and families improve and gain control of their lives when safety or ability to participate in their community is restricted.</li><li>Carry out an assessment or enquiry and plan responses to safeguard a child from abuse, neglect or exploitation, building effective relationships with children, adults and families as appropriate, including intervention when information or circumstances suggest there may be a need to remove a child from their parents or carers.</li><li>Arrange appropriate alternative care (including, where appropriate a permanent home) in collaboration with children, young people and their parents/carers where parents/carers cannot care for them.</li><li>Accountable for making recommendations about whether a case has reached the threshold for statutory intervention.</li><li>Promoting autonomy and development with individuals who have complex social needs and are more vulnerable as a result of disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity, for example, working with people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or diminished capacity.</li><li>Maintain up to date, accurate and high quality records of activity on cases. Participate in a range of planning and decision making forums including case discussions, Strategy Meetings, Legal Planning meetings, Child Protection Conferences, Statutory Reviews.</li><li>Act as a Practice Educator for social work qualifying course students on practice placements (as appropriate) or Assessor for Newly Qualified Social Workers completing their ASYE.</li><li>Working with communities, families and individuals to maximise or promote their personal strengths, social networks and resources.</li><li>Hold a caseload of a level of complexity and provide case management, guidance, support and expert advice to social care staff, students and newly qualified social workers, as and when required.</li><li>Contribute to development of organisational capability by taking ownership of your own training and development, including identifying and taking part in training and development activity and responding to feedback on performance.</li><li>Work as part of project or process teams as required under the new operating model, ensuring excellent cross functional output.</li></ul>
