We have an excellent opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client in Milton Keynes.
Our client is a young man in his 20's who due to a spinal injury has complex needs, including tetraplegia, chest down paralysis, limited hand function and risk of autonomic dysreflexia. He live is an adapted bungalow with a 24/7 care team, enjoys the gym, TV/film, music, rugby and has an active social life with family and friends.
Due to the client's support needs the successful candidate can be either female or male, ideally have some experience working with complex needs and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship. Our client had a very active lifestyle prior to his injury and wants to continue that as much as possible.
Pay: £15.91 per hour weekdays & £17.82 per hour weekends.
Hours: Up to 48 per week over four days (08:00 - 20:00, Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday)
Key Responsibilities:

Operating on a national basis, we provide our clients with care and support wherever they are located. Our packages put our client's independence at the very centre of everything we do.- Supporting, and engaging with personalised routines inclusive of hoists.
- Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
- Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
- Providing emotional support and companionship.
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients' conditions.
- Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient and empathetic nature.
- Reliability, commitment and flexibility.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
