An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Adolescent Family Team in the London Borough of Lewisham. This locum position offers both full-time and part-time flexibility , allowing you to align your professional responsibilities with your lifestyle. Be part of a dynamic team within the Family Help and Care Division , providing critical support to adolescents aged 11-17 and their families.

Your Responsibilities:

Deliver a high-quality, statutory social work service to children, young people, and their families through assessment, intervention, care planning, and review.

Provide direct support to adolescents affected by extra-familial harm such as:

Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE)

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)

Serious Youth Violence (SYV)

Missing from Home/Care cases

Address the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of adolescents through trauma-informed and relationship-based practice.

Lead on complex cases and provide support and guidance to less experienced practitioners.

Work holistically with families to address interlinked safeguarding concerns and promote family resilience.

Contribute to reflective practice, team development, and service improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration .

Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience , ideally within adolescent, safeguarding, or family services.

Strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable adolescents, particularly relating to exploitation and mental health.

Ability to engage effectively with young people and families in complex circumstances.

Confident in multi-agency working and delivering outcomes-focused interventions.
