* Apply evidence-based tools such as Signs of Safety and strengths-based approaches.

* Determine immediate risks and safety plans, escalating when required to strategy discussions or legal planning.

* Identify children at immediate or ongoing risk of harm, taking swift protective action in collaboration with other services.

* Initiate and participate in multi-agency strategy meetings and child protection conferences.

* Undertake pre-proceedings work and contribute to legal planning as needed.

* Prepare cases for transfer to longer-term teams once the initial assessment phase is concluded.

* Maintain clear, concise, and analytical case records, chronologies, and assessments in accordance with statutory and local authority procedures.

* Prioritise workload using professional judgement in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.

* Write reports for court proceedings and attend court to represent the local authority when necessary.

* Contribute to the development of care plans and permanency plans.
