Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Manager - Specialist Services
Location: Confidential Residential Learning Disability Care Home - Suffolk
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Day Shifts)
Salary: £14.50 per hour



About the Service

Our service is a 9-bed specialist residential care home offering tailored support for individuals with:

  • Learning Disabilities and/or Autism

  • Physical Disabilities

  • Complex care needs

  • Younger Adults requiring permanent or respite care

  • Day care services

Purpose of the Role

As the Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead, support, and develop the care team. Your key responsibility is to ensure the delivery of exceptional care to all service users, in line with the home's values, policies, and CQC standards.

You will act as a role model and mentor to staff, assist in staff development, maintain accurate care records, and help manage the day-to-day operations of the home.



Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Management

  • Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of service delivery

  • Lead and motivate the care team to maintain high standards of support

  • Assist with rota management, staff supervision, and performance monitoring

  • Take the lead during manager absence and on delegated shifts

  • Participate in recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of staff



Person-Centred Care

  • Ensure service users receive personalised care that reflects their individual needs, preferences, and goals

  • Encourage independence and involvement in daily living activities

  • Monitor care plans and risk assessments, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness

  • Support with complex care tasks where required, including PEG feeds, manual handling, and mobility needs







Desirable

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care

  • Experience in managing rotas and staffing levels

  • Training in safeguarding, MCA/DoLS, and first aid

  • Knowledge of supporting with stoma care, colostomy bags, or similar clinical tasks
