Job Description

Deputy Manager - Residential Dementia Care Home

?? Location: Derby (must live within 30 minutes and drive - no public transport access)
?? Salary: £37,500 per year
?? Hours: Full-time - 40 hours per week
?? Contract: Permanent
?? Qualification: NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care required



About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join a well-established residential care home in Derby, specialising in dementia care. You'll work closely with the Home Manager to oversee the daily operations, lead a dedicated care team, and ensure the highest standard of person-centred care is delivered consistently.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Home Manager with day-to-day leadership and operational duties

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop care staff, ensuring compliance with care plans and company standards

  • Contribute to care planning, assessments, and reviews

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality CQC standards

  • Administer medication and oversee healthcare coordination

  • Act as a key point of contact for families, professionals, and external agencies



Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care (essential)

  • Previous experience in a managerial or senior deputy role within a care home setting

  • Strong knowledge of dementia care and safeguarding protocols

  • Confident in staff management, rota planning, and team leadership

  • Must have a full UK driving licence and own transport (location not accessible by public transport)

  • Must live within 30 minutes of the care home
