Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Parental Substance Misuse Specialist Social Worker to work full time based in Hull.

The salary for this Social Worker job is up to £51,127 per annum.

Main duties:

* Achieving continued significant improvement in working relationships between services for children, and services for adults with substance misuse problems, to achieve optimal outcomes for children.

* Contributing expertise and specialist advice at the care planning stage for children in need in families which include a substance misusing parent.

* Improve knowledge of the pattern of need amongst families where a parent is misusing substances.

* Become engaged in direct work with individual families at first point of contact with the duty service.

* Continually improve working relationships between services for children in need, and services for adults with substance misuse problems.

* Establish an effective network of links at a management level with key statutory and voluntary agencies in both adult and children's services.

* Collect, maintain and disseminate information and resources for parents, children and young people and other professionals.

* Collate management information and provide statistical returns to inform strategic planning and policy development by senior managers.

* Contribute to multi-professional assessments undertaken by Social Workers of Children's Specialist service by providing specialist assessments of parents substance misuse.

* Contribute to the child's care plans by providing specialist treatment required by parents with substance misuse concerns.

* Attend meetings within the borough that are linked to the post including working collaboratively with the three substance misuse specialists for children and young people.

* Provide regular briefing sessions and relevant information to staff in Children's Specialist Service by attending team meetings or arranging training events.

* The profile is not intended to be an exhaustive list of the duties the post holder will carry out. Other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the post, including supporting emergency and priority situations, will form part of the role.

Requirements of this Social Worker job:

* Degree or equivalent in Social Work.

* Registered as Social Worker.

* Understanding of the SW legislation.
