Job Description

Qualified Support Workers Guernsey, Channel Islands.

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join Guernsey’s Adult Disability Service. The Adult Disability Service in Guernsey support people with learning disabilities and autism in a variety of settings. These include residential homes, supported living, outreach and day services. About the Role

Support Workers play a key role in providing emotional and practical support across a number of community settings supporting and championing service users to improve their wellbeing, independence and self-efficacy. 

Your day will involve helping people live an ordinary life in their community, supporting personal care, promoting independent living skills and providing emotional support using an active support model.  You will be expected to work closely not only with service users but their family and friends, other professionals with whom they may come into contact with and be a part.

Contract & Benefits:

  • Type: Full Time Permanent
  • Salary:
    • Band 3 £27,950 - £30,996 BAR £31,966 - £32,720 per annum  
    • Band 4 £31,966 - £35,828 BAR £36,899 - £37,967 per annum

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3/ QQI level 5 or equivalent in relevant health or social care topic
  • Possesses full, clean and valid driving license
  • UK citizenship or UK Indefinite Leave to Remain or Irish citizenship 
  • Great communication skills
  • Handles sensitive information with care and confidentiality
  • Has a calm presence
  • A professional, caring, and compassionate nature
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
