We are thrilled to offer a fantastic opening for a Senior Social Worker within Barnsley's Edge of Care Team. This ongoing and full-time role offers a dynamic opportunity to work intensively with children and young people, aged 10-18 years, who are at imminent risk of entering the care system. Earning £35 hourly, this position is not only financially rewarding but also deeply impactful, empowering you to make a significant difference by strengthening family units and enhancing the community's well-being. If you are proactive and excel in building meaningful relationships with children and families in complex situations, we'd love to connect with you.

Perks and benefits:

* Enjoy the competitive hourly rate of £35, allowing you to concentrate on your mission to help without financial distractions.

* Benefit from being part of a supportive and reflective team, where collaborative work and innovation are encouraged and celebrated.

* Access regular supervision and bespoke professional development, ensuring continuous growth and expertise in your field.

* Engage in specialised training focused on trauma-informed care, keeping you ahead with the latest practices.

* Flexible working arrangements that respect your work-life balance while meeting the needs of families.

What you will do:

* Collaborate with children and families to prevent breakdowns in family relationships and avert children's entry into care.

* Use evidence-based methods in individual and family sessions tailored to specific needs.

* Conduct thorough assessments and create personalised care plans that reflect each child's unique perspective and needs.

* Regularly connect with families through home visits, community sessions, and multi-agency meetings.

* Foster trust with children, especially those who have experienced trauma and may be wary of professionals.

* Provide expert advice to colleagues on complex family issues and trauma-informed care practices.

* Help evaluate and improve the Edge of Care service using reflective and data-driven strategies.

* Work effectively with multi-agency partners to ensure a comprehensive support network.

* Maintain accurate records and case notes in compliance with statutory and local guidelines.

* Uphold Barnsley Children's Services' commitment to the safety and well-being of children and young people.

Essential Requirements:

* Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma in Social Work) and Social Work England registration.

* Significant post-qualifying experience with children and families in statutory or intensive support settings.

* Proficiency in managing complex cases involving trauma, neurodiversity, and difficult behaviours.

* Strong understanding of family dynamics, child protection, and legal frameworks.

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive positive outcomes for families.

* Commitment to relationship-led, strength-based, and trauma-informed methods.

* Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends depending on family needs.

* Enhanced DBS clearance and a valid UK driving licence are required.

Work base:

Based at our modern office in Westgate, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S70 2DR.
