Shared Lives Officer/Coordinator

Shared Lives is a CQC regulated form of Adult Social Care, where people who need support go to live with a Shared Lives Carer, who offers them support, accommodation and community connections. Our scheme works in Newham, Havering and Thurrock, and staff are currently required to work across all three borough visiting the homes of Shared Lives carers and people they are supporting.

The Shared Lives Officers recruit, support and monitor Shared Lives Carers to provide appropriate support to individuals placed with them. They assess and draw up support plans for people referred to the scheme for support and identify a good match for them. They are able to assess support provided against the national standards and offer support and advice to ensure both Shared Lives Carers and the person supported achieve good outcomes.

You will have experience of working in Adult Social Care, and of supervising others but not necessarily of Shared Lives. You will be able to write clear support plans, with positive risk taking. You will be good at building relationships with a wide range of people. You will be committed to positive behaviour support and to making sure that our service works well for everyone who needs it. You will be passionate about supporting vulnerable adults to live their best lives, in the heart of their community.
