We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Winchester, a Category B male prison just outside of the city centre. HMP Winchester has free onsite parking as well as excellent transport links - there is a bus stop opposite the site and the train station is a 10 minute walk.
Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol.

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. HMP Winchester is a remand prison with capacity of around 650.

Hours:

This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary:

This position is full time , you'll receive an annual salary of £26,586 - £30,684 dependent on experience

What you'll be doing

As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Delivering outstanding care to psycho social patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
  • Providing a programme of psycho social interventions
  • Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
  • Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions
  • Assisting the healthcare team on the wings and in house blocks
