Job summary

Do you want to be part of an innovative Tier 4 team which is vital to our transformation of Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across Sussex?

We have a vacancy for a Senior CAMHS Crisis Practitioner (Urgent Help Service). This role will primarily focus on supporting the operational management, while supporting the team's clinical needs and being able to undertake young people assessment across all Sussex.

We are looking for a highly skilled, forward-thinking, creative and dynamic senior practitioner who has a passion for young person and family-centred care. You will be enthusiastic and resilient and be able to work with and respond to young people's needs creatively and flexibly.

This job will be based at Chalkhill, in Haywards Heath.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for aspects of the operational management.

To manage a crisis caseload of young people and their families and carers.

To co-ordinate and deliver individualised care packages / programmes for adolescents and their families and evaluate these programmes, ensuring high standards of practice in accordance with national guidelines and trust policy.

To develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with young people and their families/carers.

To be able to assess and manage high-risk adolescent clients in a variety of settings, conduct risk assessments and formulate robust individualised and dynamic safety plans.

To independently undertake crisis mental health assessments in a variety of settings including Accident and Emergency departments out of hours and liaise with relevant individuals and agencies to promote a positive, safe and meaningful experience for the young person and their families

To be able to demonstrate the ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure taking into consideration the risks to clients, self and others and to be able to assess the often complex situations of these clients and their families.

To deliver evidence-based interventions and undertake routine outcome measures to monitor the quality of care provided, in keeping with the national CYPIAPT framework.

Essential

Educated to minimum diploma level with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience

Evidence of CPD

Experience

Essential

Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in clinical practice

Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff

Understanding of Health and Social Care Governance

Experience of managing staff
