Cerebral Palsy Support Worker

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. Our client is a young individual who is non verbal as well as being a wheel chair user and using ceiling hoists. She will require 2:1 care for the rest of her life aiding with the admin of medication through PEG as well as taking fluids in PEG. She will be going for surgery later this autumn and will need aid with post surgical care.

Hours:
As you will be working in a team there will be a mix of shifts available from short days and evenings to 12 hour waking nights across the week. Where possible we will aim to set a rolling rota where you will know a month in advance what your shifts will be.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering personalised care routines
• PEG experience is a must.
• Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
• Providing emotional support and companionship.
• Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients' conditions.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
• Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work the specified hours.
