Job Description

Main duties of the job

The role is to provide support and give time to an allocated group or individual, thus promoting their recovery and assisting them to access their community environment. This will involve working with individuals supporting them to achieve goals that they have identified as important for their recovery.

The successful applicant to be an excellent communicator, know how to use time effectively, to be empathetic, compassionate and have the ability to deal with situations sensitively.

The post holder will work as part of a skilled and innovative multidisciplinary team supporting the delivery of mental health and risk assessments and administering of evidence based therapeutic interventions. The post holder will work in close liaison with the inpatient clinical team and the onsite Cloughside College, who educate young people attending the Day Service and on the inpatient wards.



The post holder will be expected to offer both support and advice to families and carers, and work in an integrated manner with key partner organisations and professionals, from services such as community CAMHS, social care and education.

The Day Service also deliver an Outreach service, supporting transition back to the community by seeing young people at their home or school. The post holder must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own transport.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will provide Support, give Time to an allocated group of service users and promote their Recovery.

Work under the direction of senior team members to contribute to the comprehensive assessment of young people referred to the Day Service. Where appropriate communicate information with young people and their families regarding the assessment process.

Undertake engagement and feedback work directly with young people, their families/carers and referrers in order to support the Day Service KPI's and inform delivery and service development.

Education / qualifcations
Essential criteria
  • •NVQ level 2 or equivalent


Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in health and social care


Experience
Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in an acute mental health setting


Desirable criteria
  • Experience of dealing with challenging behaviours
