Job Description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will support registered members of the team to deliver evidenced based interventions to help children and young people with their mental health. They will ensure they are following intervention plans as well as updating care documents and liaising with other members of the clinical team.

The post holder should also be expected to carry out physical health monitoring sessions to help support the children and young people who are prescribed medication from our service. They should liaise with our nurse prescribers and doctors to help them with the ongoing monitoring and prescribing of medication to our children and young people. You will be provided with full training to support you with this.

They will also be expected to help deliver group sessions to children and young people under the supervision and support of other clinical members of the team.

Qualification
Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent - Trainee within agreed timescale
  • Care certificate
  • Litercay and Numeracy Level 2 - Trainee within agreed timescale


Experience
Essential criteria
  • •Previous experience of working with people with mental/social health needs or learning disabilities.
  • •Working knowledge of Physical Health monitoring for eating disorders
  • •Awareness of legal frameworks including Mental Health legislation (within agreed timescale)


Desirable criteria
  • •Experience of working in Physical Health Clinics
  • •Experience in venepuncture


Skills
Essential criteria
  • •Ability to take general observations i.e. pulse, BP, temperature, weight and height
  • •Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • •Time management and ability to prioritise effectively
