Assessment Social Worker in Devon

Assessment of kinship carers, including but not exclusive to Special Guardianship and connected carer assessments.
Supervision and oversight of connected carers under Regulation 24 arrangements.
Completion of viability assessments and SGO support plans.
Undertaking checks and references in relation to prospective carers.
Presentation of assessed carers at fostering panel.
Involvement in providing evidence to the court including giving evidence when requested.

The role may include other tasks necessary for the provision of kinship services and potential assistance to the Children's teams if necessary.
The candidate must have strong assessment, report writing and analytic skills, most particularly with the analysis of risk and balance of harm.
They need to be able to work restoratively with families and have good relationship building abilities.
They need to be able to work well within a team, particularly given that this is a countywide service as well as within the current climate of agile working.

Work will predominantly be based within the area of North and Mid & East Devon with the expectation of occasional travel further afield.

Full time temporary ongoing position.
