Person specification

Qualifications
Essential criteria

• NVQ level 2 or equivalent Maths and English GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent Care certificate or willing to complete this upon employment

Desirable criteria

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Experience
Essential criteria

• Previous experience working with members of the public

Desirable criteria

• Previous experience in a maternity setting and aware of the principles of woman and family centred care.

Knowledge
Essential criteria

• The applicant possesses generalised knowledge to inform their understanding of the job role and specific knowledge related to tasks or activities within their scope of role. They must demonstrate an awareness of contemporary public health and health promotion initiatives, including where legal and ethical issues are relevant to their scope of role.

Skills
Essential criteria

• Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with service users and their families, with varying levels of understanding Self-motivated Flexibility and team participation Basic IT skills- ability to use keyboard or willingness to develop Demonstrates effective application of problem solving and planning skills and a broad skill base related to their practice.

Desirable criteria

• Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting Familiar with Microsoft Office and excel
