• Position: Care Assistant
• Care Categories: Child and Adolescent Mental Health (Hospital)
• Negotiable Salary: £10.14 per hour
• Hours: Full time hours or Part time hours depending on preference
• Flexible Shifts: Day shifts /Night shifts or Mixed are available depending on your preference, all shifts are 12.15 hour shifts (8.00 - 8.15 start and finish times)
• Contract type: Permanent

We are a 60-bed hospital that specialises in younger adults and children diagnosed mental health condition who need intensive inpatient treatment. Our hospital provides caring, supportive, recovery-focused treatment and we achieve this by working together with our young people, their families, and other professionals.

A typical day will involve:

• Build relationships with patients, which are open and two way
• Support patients to undertake their rehabilitation programme
• Establish methods of communication with patients, reducing barriers when necessary
• Accurately report and/or record work activities
• Support with activities of daily living & personal care
• Assist patients with mealtimes where necessary

Who are we looking for?

• A Minimum of 6 months experience working within the care and support sector
• A genuine interest in working within a caring environment is essential
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Some experience working within a Mental Health setting is desirable
• The ability to build a great rapport and the desire to truly make a difference
• A person-centred approach in all aspects of care
