Job Description

This post requires a high degree of knowledge, skill and experience in clinical assessment and interventions, alongside a desire and proven ability to offer effective leadership.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced practitioner to put your experience and skills to great use in the role of Highly Specialised Mental Health Practitioner . This is a new position within the Trafford CAMHS team developed to support delivery of an effective and efficient duty and assessment function as part of the Thrive needs led framework, including leading on developing the offer of risk support. The post will also contribute to development and leadership of streamlined access to mental health support across the Borough.

You will possess leadership and management experience with a desire to support and develop staff. With strong communication and organisation skills and a flexible approach, you will ensure you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their time with us. You will need particular skills and experience in assessment, risk support and proven efficiency working with partner agencies.

Working as part of Trafford CAMHS you will join a dedicated and enthusiastic team of professionals with a drive to provide an outstanding quality of care. You will manage and supervise clinical staff providing duty and risk support to children, young people and families. you will work as part of the Senior Leadership within the service to participate in the evolution of the service, ensuring that the needs of our Children, Young People and Families are at the centre of their care.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide operational management and leadership within the clinical area, ensuring effective implementation and on-going delivery of Trust pathways and protocols in order that the team can deliver safe and effective, high quality compassionate services.
  • Clinically, hold a specific caseload in order to maintain registration with the post holders governing body and to provide high level assessment and intervention in line with the posts seniority and expected level of experience and skill.
  • Work in partnership with clinical and pathway leads, the Service Manager and other senior staff to establish effective multi-disciplinary working within the team and the wider CAMH Service.
  • Ensure that practice across the service meets required standards and evidences shared decision making and evaluation of practice through use of routine outcome measures.
  • Lead on the recruitment and supervision of staff within the clinical area, operating within the available resources to achieve the required targets.
  • Lead on the establishment, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.

The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85 (enhanced disclosure) which will be deducted from salary, in the first 3 months of employment.
