Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Adolescent Practitioner to work in Northampton. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying from £15.00 - £20.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

To act as key worker / lead professional in the delivery and co-ordination of high quality targeted intervention for adolescents aged 11 - 19 and their families with emerging complex needs and/or on the edge of care which puts them at risk of exploitation and exclusion from their families, education and community.

To use skills of assessment, engagement and change management within a multidisciplinary, adolescent team to improve outcomes for children aged 11 - 19 and their families.

To lead and coordinate service provision to young people and their families, through a combination of direct delivery 1:1 support and group work activity, and using wider partner services. Services being provided may include interventions, such as forming trusting relationships with vulnerable young people, working closely with them to develop skills and offer alternative choices and life planning, work around self-esteem and confidence building, signposting and linking to health and alcohol / drugs support, rebuilding family relationships, advice for parents around managing behaviour and parenting techniques, helping with household management and family routines and information and advice on welfare, housing, training and work.

To carry out and oversee comprehensive Early Help and Signs Of Safety /risk assessments, including contextual safeguarding and safety planning, and to work intensively with young people and their families to build trusting relationships. To develop and propose intervention plans following assessment to create an assertive and persistent structured supportive intervention environment enabling young people and families to explore their difficulties and strengths.

To offer a support and challenge approach with young people and their families to bring about positive change in behaviour. Act as the lead professional to co-ordinate day-to-day inputs of other agencies, including providing knowledge and advice for team members and ensuring professional boundaries are set and maintained.

Develop and maintain a range of strategies and resources to effectively engage young people, their families, partners and communities.

To plan, deliver and review intervention plans to assist families to maintain tenancies, reduce anti-social/offending behaviour and improve outcomes for children aged 11 - 19 and their families. This includes working with homeless 16 and 17 year olds to return home with their families or to live in supported accommodation.
