Job Description

Seven Resourcing are looking for a number of temporary Support Worker's to work with a Reablement Service in Norwich. These positions are initially for a period of 3 months and the hiring manager is looking for candidates who can work a minimum of 2 shifts per week from Applyor Applyand 2 nights shifts per week (Weds/Thurs + Sat/Sun) from Applyor Apply. The rates will be from £13.78 per hour (paid via an umbrella company) and inflations are on offer for weekend working.

The role:

Norfolk First Response brings together a number of services - Norfolk Swift Response, Norfolk First Support - to enable customers to get a fast, efficient solution to their care needs in their own homes or within Accommodation Based Reablement.

Norfolk First Response work closely with a number of partners to deliver person-centred care, including local acute hospitals, ambulance services, community hospitals, CCGs, Health care trusts, community alarm providers, domiciliary care providers, voluntary agencies and housing associations.

Norfolk First Support provides an intensive Assessment and Reablement service either in a person's own home or in 24/7 accommodation for up to six weeks.

After an initial assessment of their needs, the Norfolk First Support team work with the person to develop a personalised plan to assist the person to regain the skills and confidence to remain living as independently as possible in their home.

Key Responsibilities:

* To carry out initial environmental Health & Safety check when no previous risk assessment has been completed and to inform colleagues/line manager as necessary.

* Understand the significance and responsibilities of NCC and individuals of safeguarding and interpret this accurately for all individual vulnerable adults, whatever their life circumstances.

* To provide encouragement, assistance, advice and support, to help service users gain confidence with personal care tasks, manoeuvring when getting in and out of bed, dressing and undressing, getting in and out of a chair or on an off the toilet; with the aim to enable the service user to achieve maximum independence to enable them to take part in the activities of everyday life. This may include bathing, washing, continence needs and feeding.

* To assist service users with mobility difficulties as identified in the care plan, including moving and handling as identified in the Moving Handling Risk Assessment.

* To be flexible in meeting the wishes/needs of service users within Departmental policies and procedures and the service user plan ensuring that service users' rights to privacy, dignity, respect and confidentiality are observed at all times.

* To accurately and legibly complete appropriate documentation (this may include electronic format) relating to the visit, including risk assessments and daily record sheets and report any changes in risk to the Reablement Practitioner.

* To observe, monitor and report to the Reablement Practitioner any significant adverse changes or improvements in the service user's health, mood, behaviour and attitude or changes in circumstances and actively participate within the reviewing process.

Applicant Requirements:

* Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

* Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.

* Compliance: Up to date training and current DBS check.

* Hours: Flexibility on offer depending on your availability.
