Job Description

Support Worker – Assessment Unit

£18,015 per annum, plus £1,080 shift allowance

37 hours per week, all year round

Permanent

Based in Lingfield, Surrey

Your role

Part of the Health Directorate, the Assessment & Rehabilitation service is a fast-moving environment focusing on medical/therapeutic needs with frequent changes in patient demographic, their presentation, and nature of the cases undergoing assessment and rehabilitation.

We have an opportunity for a confident and caring individual to join our team as a permanent member of the service’s team of support workers. You will support the team leader in the planning, implementation and evaluation of care for children and young people within the Assessment & Rehabilitation Unit. You will ensure that the care given to these children and young people is individualised and of the highest standard.

As a key link/support to a specific discipline, you will ensure the correct implementation of their programmes and promote effective communication between the child, their family and members of the multi-disciplinary team.

What we need from you

  • First-class communication skills are essential in the role, along with sensitivity, integrity and adaptability

  • Experience of working with children and young people within a health or social care environment,

  • Working knowledge of risk assessment practice and the ability to respond effectively to differing demands when required
