Job Description

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Emotional Literacy Support Officer for a 12 month contract role working remotely (although home trips to families in the Walsall area are required). The hourly rate is £12.20 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

Key Responsibilities:

* To act as an officer for emotional literacy support.

* To support the core statutory functions of the Elective home education service.

* To motivate children and engage them in understanding their emotions better.

* To develop and deliver a programme to support the needs of home educated children who are experiencing difficulties with emotional literacy.

* To create, develop and produce resources for use with intervention programmes as appropriate.

* To provide appropriate support and guidance for home educated children who are experiencing difficulties with emotional literacy or other aspects of home life.

* Work within the Council's priorities to safeguard children and young people. Role specific duties and accountabilities:

* To be a point of contact and work in partnership with families who have elected to home educate their children.

* To provide support and guidance in respect of emotional literacy for elective home educated children/young people.

* To develop knowledge of a range of learning and behavioural support

* To deliver services in line with Elective Home Education policies and procedures.

* Direct work with children, families and schools to challenge situations where Elective Home Education may not be in the child/ young person's best interest.

* To work with schools, Walsall Children's services staff and other services to ensure Elective Home Education is delivered in line with statutory services and guidance.

* Provide advice in respect of Elective Home Education as and when required.

* To assess and develop programmes to support the emotional needs of home educated children.

* To liaise with schools and home educating parents to support children's transition back to school.

Applicant Requirements:

* Qualifications: N/A.

* Experience: 2 + years working as a Teaching Assistant.

* Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check.

* Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

* Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
