Plus, On Call payment & Brilliant Benefits!

Delivering support with a difference. That’s when it hits home.

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our Transforming Care team, supporting our brilliant customers to live a fulfilling life in their own home within the local community. Our team support our customers who have complex support needs, including learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism and communication differences, alongside ongoing physical health conditions. They may also have a forensic background and distressing behaviours.

Working with our multi-disciplinary team including a Clinical Registered Manager, Clinical Psychologist and Occupational Therapist, you’ll lead our support team to ensure that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a great quality of life, supporting our customers and their families to transform lives and build independence. You will play a key role in ensuring that the services our customers receive are consistent with a high quality Positive Behaviour Support provision.

As a Deputy Manager you will be a compassionate and knowledgeable leader ensuring the delivery of a high quality, cost-effective person-centred service in line with CQC Fundamental Standard regulatory requirements. Your support team will deliver care to a small group of customers with complex needs delivering support guided by the clinical team. You will play a key role in monitoring quality and outcomes data with Deb our Clinical Registered Manager, evidencing compliance and best practice aligned with regulatory requirements.

You’ll work alongside our existing Deputy Manager Caroline and report to Deb our Registered Manager who has worked for Home Group for 5 years. Deb has loads of experience in working with customers with both mental health and learning disabilities. Deb has a clinical background in nursing and was an accredited psychotherapist in a previous life before joining Home Group (clever we know!). Outside of work you’ll find her supporting her local football team, spending quality time with her family and loves cooking for friends.

You will be supported by the wider New Models of Care clinical Team who will give you loads of guidance to help you be fab at your job. They come from all backgrounds including PBS, OT, Nurses and wider social provision. We don’t just love to support our colleagues and customers, we’re there for each other too!

We guarantee every day will be different which will inspire and challenge you. You will constantly learn new things and be stretched professionally, emotionally and practically; your learning will be immense. And you won’t be on your own, we are recruiting a big team to deliver excellent person-centred support in this service.

You must be based in Swindon and be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for work as you'll be required to travel and work throughout Swindon. As we are transitioning customers back to the Swindon area you will be required to travel to where our customers are in order to transition them back to Swindon. This will only be for a short period of time, and don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

A bit about you

You’ll be an experienced Team Leader or Deputy Manager and have an excellent understanding of relevant regulatory policies and procedures, including fundamental standard regulations such as NICE guidelines and CQC regulations along with a working understanding of medication management. You will also have experience of working with individuals with complex presentations and behaviours of concern. You'll ideally be a Registered Nurse with a Learning Disabilities or Mental Health background, but this isn't a deal breaker!

You’ll lead on the recruitment of great colleagues who share our values and passion for brilliant customer care and will set colleagues up for success in their roles. You're used to embedding a culture of strong communication and reflective practice. We will support you to lead and manage your team, assuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. You will ensure the competence of your team through a process of observation and assessment, coaching, mentoring and directing.

Working hours

We will be managing 24 hr support, which will be on a rolling rota (yet to be decided) but you and your team will support to cover evenings, weekends and bank holidays including on call rota. As we’re asking you to be flexible for us, we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
